Villa Kalma – Santa Maria
Just 100 metres from the sandy, turquoise-water beach of Santa Maria, a step away from Filizi and Laggery beach lies Villa Kalma, a traditional stone house of 211,23m² painted in the classical island shades of white and blue. It is surrounded by a stunning garden of 1079,02m² which includes pergolas – offering all-day shade, and paved patios for those bright, star-lit summer nights.
The house boasts a 109,46m² ground floor which incorporates an open-plan living room with a fireplace, a dining room (6 – 10 persons), an all-appliance fully-equipped kitchen with traditional wooden cupboards, and finally a bedroom with a queen size double bed, fitted closets and a marble bathroom. A stone arch separates the living room from a second siting room with sofas, which in turn leads to the lovely garden where one can gather around the teak table (8 – 10 persons) for lunch, drinks, games and more. A little bit further, one may sit back and relax in one of the comfortable chaise-longues overlooking the sea.
The lower level of the house consists of two bright bedrooms; one is equipped with a king-size bed (with the possibility of 2 single beds instead), while the other is equipped with 2 single beds which can be transformed into two semi-double beds. The level also boasts a second bathroom and a cozy t.v. room with built-in sofas. In its entirety the house can thus accommodate a large family and/or a large group of friends.
Villa Kalma is entirely constructed in stone. Stone elements adorne the outdoor patios, terraces, windows, the indoor fireplace, the arches and the doors, providing a decor inherent to the Cycladic islands and tradition, as well as offering a cool interior – a shelter against the summer heat. The house has central heating, an alarm system, ceiling fans on all bedrooms, screens on all windows, and outdoor shower, a storage with a freezer and an extra fridge, and two parking spaces.
